I recently acquired a Burgess BBS 20 small 3 wheel bandsaw. I have set it up to best of my (fading) memory but was wondering if anyone had an instruction manual laying around. A Burgess BBS-20 bandsaw from the 1970s is totally dismantled, cleaned, repainted and reassembled with a new belt and blade.
I probably have a manual around somewhere, but quite frankly, it's not worth looking for. Setting the blade guides is obvious - but make sure, of course, that the combination rear guides are not hard against the back of the blade other than when under load. As with all bandsaws, don't leave the blade under tension when not in use. The tricky thing with these BBS 20 models - as with most three-wheel models - is to get the blade to track at all.

If it's tracking fine, that's all you need to know. If you're cutting wood, watch for a build-up of sawdust inside the casing below the lower blade guides. Really not up to anything like the work it was advertised for, but fine for very light work. Nowadays I do all bandsawing of wood on a big cast-iron model that's a lot taller than myself. However I keep the Burgess BBS20 with a metal-cutting blade on it - just perfect for cutting small sections of alloy. John MacLeod.
