For those of you wanting to increase the immersion factor of your Mad Dog one more step, which I know is hard to believe that it can be done with this remarkable bird, HiFi Sims (makers of ActiveSky) have released XPax. I don't have FSPassengers but from what I've seen and heard, XPax is similar to it.
Well, lately I've been trying to install FSXWX on Steam Edition, and I have run into some problems with getting the correct SimConnect. I am able to succesfully install 'FSX-RTM' and 'FSX-SP1'.msi but when I attempt to install the 'FSX-XPACK' I get the 'Windows is configuring blah blah blah: Gathering required information' and then it just closes, no EULA or anything.
I installed it and tested it with the Super 80 and it works just fine. It was quite a nice change to hear terminal and crew announcements while flying this bird. It works in both FS9 and FSX. You can read about it. Actually, you can set the pax sensitivity all the way from jolly old elves who just enjoy riding to some real hard core gripers who hate you before they even board. I'm not sure what all FSPassengers does but XPax will load your aircraft with pax in a realistic way. By that I mean you hear the boarding announcements amid miscellaneous stuff you hear of the PA at any airport.

Then cabin announcements giving the seatbelt and oxy mask lecture, and other stuff on the way to cruise. Once you arrive at cruise you hear a flight attendant announce the usual 'sit back, we'll be selling liquor' stuff. And funny thing is. Flying in the US you hear American English with booze for sale for $5 and when I flew in the UK it was British English and booze for sale for '2 pounds fifty'.
I haven't flown anywhere else yet but I'm dying to try it in Espen's backyard to see what it says there. Once you land and taxi to the gate, you set the parking brake and open the main exit and they get off the aircraft. I think this is more aircraft chatter and atmosphere than it is a scorekeeper, although it does that as well. If the pax are mad at you, you really don't know exactly why although you will probably know because it updates you on occastion with how happy everyone is with you or mad because you descended to fast. FSPassengers might be more technical than XPax but for virtual pilots like me, it is right up my alley. I prefer the atmosphere than the score. The one thing I wish it did, and it might since I have yet to read the entire manual, is that once I set it up for the Super 80 pax load (row arrangement and # of pax), that it would remember that between flights.
Update: It does change the accent while in Norway but it thinks liquor sells for '2 pounds fifty' there as well. Ok,I see.nice to see some CSA $. Hehe,it's the same here between Sweden and Norway. We from Sweden thinks people from Norway are stupid etc.But it's always with a twinkle in one's eye.nothing serious. Here is a good example: -Do you know why a norweigan walks in the desert and carrying a door from a car? -Because if it gets hot he can take down the window! (Hope that Espen is not reading this ).
Warm and sunny in the winter,well.hihi.you remember the pics you posted here before.I hope you don't have snow now. Here we have no snow to talk about and +4 Celsius.Usually it's a little colder here now/Conny. Yeah, we have equivalent jokes here as well. In Texas we have Aggie jokes. Aggies are students from Texas A&M University and the jokes about them are similar.
Aggie being short for 'Agriculture'. A&M stands for Agricultural and Mechanical.
Like this one: Did you hear about the Aggie who decided to swim across the Atlantic? He got halfway and decided he couldn't make it so he turned around and went back. I remember those pictures. That was unbelievable for here. I think we had more snow that day than you or Espen had. The only other language I sort of know is German. I know enough to follow a conversation if its spoken slowly but not but not well enough to keep up with a native speaker.
I really should brush up on it though. I remember you saying that German and Swedish are sort of similar so maybe if I refreshed my German I could understand Swedish. I don't think I could understand Norwegian. They use those funny characters in their words. Now people from the UK, I feel pretty sure I could understand most of what they say. Yeah, they even have McDonald's in Biejing too.
Those people are everywhere selling the same tasteless crap to people all over the world. Well, the good thing Jeff. You know where to find us.
Yeah, I mean I even mentioned adding a Texas/English version of it to the developers and made some suggestion about my learning proper English. Hey, I can read and write it. I just can't talk it. No, actually they took it in good humor as one of the developers is a redneck. Okay, for my European friends who may not know, a 'redneck' is generally someone from the southern USA. Mainly rural. We rednecks wear the nickname with pride.

Yankees think they are insulting us when they call us that but t'aint so. By the way, ' t'aint' t'aint in the Cockpit Chatter vocabulary either.
